Center Moriches is the middle of the three Moriches hamlets — a real Main Street, older homes running south to Moriches Bay, and the Terrell River preserve on its east side. The housing is mostly 19th-century homes along Main Street and Montauk Highway, bay-front and creek-front homes on Moriches Bay, and 1960s and '70s ranches and Colonials on the side streets, and the blocks around Moriches Bay and the Center Moriches Main Street each light up a little differently in December.
