Flanders is the pine-barrens hamlet on the south side of the Peconic River — home of the Big Duck, with modest wooded lots and bay-front streets on Flanders Bay. Between the Big Duck and Flanders Road (Route 24) the housing shifts from 1950s and '60s ranches and cottages on the wooded lots to newer homes in the pine barrens toward Hampton Bays, with bay-front homes on Flanders Bay in between — three different jobs for a lighting crew.

When the wind comes across the bay it hits the water-facing eaves first and hardest, and that's where cheap hardware fails. That's the weather half of the job. We install sealed connections, corrosion-resistant clips, and wind-rated attachment on the water-facing eaves as standard.
